Merry Christmas!!

Christmas was here and gone!! What a great 2 days it was!!
Christmas Eve dinner was hosted at my moms house. We had my family there, my In-laws and well as my sisters In-laws there to share the special day. We then all played Bingo after dinner and my 9 year old niece drew Christmas pictures as the 'winning prize'. She did such a great job!

That night, we tucked Rem into bed in his Christmas PJs and explained that Santa was coming.

We woke up around 6am and opened presents - just the 3 of us. Rem LOVED it and new exactly how to open all his gifts. It was such a fun morning and special. Mike and I just sat back and 'took in' the moment. We kept explaining how amazing it was to see Remi that day and compare him to last Christmas, when he was just 2 weeks old.

Then as our family tradition continues - we all went out to breakfast at IHOP. We've done that over 15  years every Christmas morning.

Back to my moms for some more present opening. And to make it more excting, Remi fell down the stairs. No one knows for sure how many steps 'cause we were all too busy playing with our new toys. But he ended up with a bloody nose and huge fat lip. Oh boy!

Later that day, it was our turn to host Christmas dinner for my husbands side of the family. His parents, both his sets of grandparents, his aunt and uncle and brother....AND my parents all joined us.

It was a great time filled with tons of laughter! We were so worn out by then end of the night.

This was one of the best Christmas's we ever had!

STATS:

Weight: He weighs 22.8 lbs (50%)

Height: He is 31 inches (75%)

Head Size:
18 inches (25%)

Diaper Size: He wears size medium and large cloth diapers and size 4 in disposables

Clothes Size:
He wears 18 month to 24 month clothes! My big boy!

Sleep: LoVeS to sleep!! Bed time is around 9p and he sleeps 12-13 hours, waking up around 9-10am. He then goes down for a nap around 1130am and sometimes takes a 2nd nap around 2 (depending on how much we play that day)

Favorite Activities: Now that he's walking, he just loves to walk! He'll walk allllll over the living room clapping his hands and 'singing'. He is trying to learn how to walk from inside to outside (its a big step) so thats what you can find him doing most afternoons.

Favorite Toys:
He has tons of new toys from his birthday so he's got lots of favorites. We did get him a tent and set it up in the corner of the living room and he spends LOTS of time in there. He loves his trucks and dinosaurs. He also loves his alphabet train that my best friend Amy got him

Eating: He snacks throughout the day on animal crackers, fruit loops and cheerios. He hates peas still (in fact he puked 3 times last night after we tried to get him to eat them) but loves fruit and all other foods. He basically eats what we eat for all meals. He also takes 2 bottles a day of whole milk

Talking: Hasn't said any 'new' words yet but babbles and 'talks' allll day long!! ...especially when he gets super excited!

Milestones:
Well, he walks everrrrrrywhere now. Hardly ever crawls. He has learned to climb things though this month. You'll find him trying to climb everything!!

My boy is SOOO big now!!!

*~Happy Birthday Remington~*

Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday Dear Remington, Happy Birthday to you!

My sweet little baby boy is ONE!!!!!!!!!

Mike is off work for this week so we stayed up 'till after midnight so that we could be the first ones to say Happy Birthday to our big boy. We then blew up over 20 balloons and put them on the floor of his room so that when he woke up, he would see all the balloons!

We then went to subway for lunch and played at Freestone Park (the park where we got married). We love that Remi can grow up in the very spot where we said I do and where we found that we were having a boy.. we celebrate everything at this park so it was a no brainer to come here on his birthday as well. Anyways, Remi walks now and for Mike and I, seeing him walk all over 'that' park really hit a spot in our hearts. Our baby boy......was ONE years old!!!!!!! We couldn't help but say "Wow.....life is amazing" while looking at our 'big boy'.

He's got the cutest little gap in his teeth! I love it!!

FUN FACT: We took our wedding pictures on this bridge too :)

Our Miracle baby!! xoxo

He was totally checking out a little girl that was walking by... Stud!

He loves his Daddy

This is the very spot where we got married and its also where we learned we were having a Boy :)

Hello Santa

Today, Remington got to meet Santa for the FIRST time....although this isn't his first Christmas (he was 2 weeks old last Christmas) we are still acting as its his first.
He loved... wasn't afraid of Santa. He didn't cry or anything while sitting on Santas lap....but he didn't smile either. He was more intrigued by all the other kids running around :)

Merry Christmas!
Love, Remington

It's Party Time!!!!!

Remingtons first birthday party was an absolute success!!! I spent lots of time planning every detail of this day to make sure it was perfect!! .....and it was!!!

The theme was airplanes and the main colors were yellow and blue. I made some spinach, turkey and cream cheese pinwheels. My sister made her famous pasta salad and my mom made delicious weenies in the crock pot. Mikes dad also brought his home made guacamole and salsa. We had soda and water for the adults and juice for the kids as well as fruit loops, animal crackers and popcorn. Mike and I made the cupcakes and cake and airplane shaped sugar cookies.

The hot chocolate favor bags were a hit! I filled little bags with a packet of instant hot chocolate, a few marshmallows, chocolate chips and 2 mini candy canes. They were set up in a suitcase with a "baggage claim" sign above and the area to drop off Remis gifts was labeled "baggage check-in".
We had lots of personal touches such as the cupcake toppers: Remington Airlines- those labels were also used on the favor bags.

We had close to 30 family and friends come to celebrate Remingtons first year! They were so kind to get him all sorts of gifts including books, new outfits, bath toys, trucks, the alphabet train, two huge teddy bears (that ironically both of my best friends bought him without knowing), and my mom and sister also bought him the same gift- a musical helicopter.

Mommy and Remi

Remi and Daddy

Remi LOVES stuffed animals and as I mentioned above, both of my best friends, not knowing, got Remi the same stuffed bear. And let me tell you......this kid spotted one of the bears from a mile away and did whatever he could to get it in his hands......

Like I said...he LOVES stuffed animals :)

Remi didn't miss a beat when it came to eating his first cake. In fact, as soon as daddy set the cake down in front of him, Remi went face first into it for the first bite. It was great!!!

This was his face when we were singing Happy Birthday to him :)

"Here you go Daddy"

"Try some cake Mommy"
It was sure a great day :)
